Amazon River Disaster & Global Warming Facts

Bish, for all your claims of there not being much of a consensus, if you remember, the last global warming thread was surprisingly lean on credible information arguing the deniers side. Basically all of the moneyed interest have much to gain from the deniers position being the right one. With all that funding, why are they producing so little scientific literature making their case?

What is more of an issue, IMO, is more money is to be gained by those who support the issue thru fear and exaggerations of the situation...

You are not going to "make" money convincing folks nothing needs to be done.....you will convincing folks to buy "green" at higher dollar stuff that doesn't work as claimed or as well as existing products.

Where are they and who are they? That's what I wonder.

Are they the scientists on the Heartland Institute's "500 Scientists Whose Research Contradicts Man-Made Global Warming Scares" list? There's a lot of controversy over that one, considering all the dead and imaginary people, not to mention the ones who demanded their name be taken off the list:

Someday, I am certain the question of whether global warming is man made or not is going to be akin to the question of whether or not cigarettes are bad for you. The evidence just keeps mounting, and all that can refute it is to shrug it off as part of the "liberal media takeover"...

It's so much like the evolution doubting (the same camp of people, too) except this is actually happening NOW.

Same "?" to you...show me proof that the "evolution" doubting folks are the same as the "global warming" doubting folks...name for name, issue to issue, please.

Show me a poll, from a non-biased source, that polled and ALL CLIMATE CLIMATE SCIENTISTS RESPONDED.....

Such a poll does not exist. But if you look at multiple sources and piece together the views of the sources then you would find that the majority of climate scientists believe that global warming is greatly sped up by human activities.

I challenge you to find scientific evidence from a non-biased source that shows humans do not contribute to global warming.

I firmly believe that even though we humans are not the only cause of global warming we are a major cause and we are speeding global warming up.

SERIOUSLY? wow. You think that more money is gained by those who support "the issue" than by those who want to stop legislation to address it? Is this what you're saying?
Koch industries, anyone?

Here you are. Note that the host site DOES have an agenda, but the source of the document does not.
Read "Examining the Scientific Consensus on Climate Change."

Why do you think the gap between layperson's opinions about scientific consensus and the actual poll results exists?

Al Gore.

Whether we speed it up or not won't matter in the end, because the temperature will still rise to a level that will radically alter the world. It's inevitable whether we're here or not. Our resources would be better spent preparing for the inevitable than trying to prevent it. I know it's in our nature to alter our environment to suit our needs, but stopping a planetary process is a quite a bit different from damming a river or building a house. It's beyond our current technological abilities and that is unlikely to change fast enough to alter this current cycle. Maybe next time.

Separate issues yes, but I think I brought up the more important one. Playing the blame game is a waste of time. The problem needs a solution, not a scapegoat. The scientists you say we should listen to are telling you exactly what I'm saying. The planet is getting warmer. There is ample record that it has happened many times before, including times before there were vertebrates let alone humans.
