Hello,
First, I`d like to say, I am new to keeping plants. I`ve recently purchased a 55g tank, wich I bought 2 amazon sword plants to put in. One of the amozons split in half. I thought nothing of it, and just planted them seprate. Well the amazon that split in half, well, its not growing: (plus it has lots of brown spots, and, well, does not look too healthy) I`ve tried giving plant food, it seemed not to help. The other is growing fine. Any solutions?

P.S
Could the reason be, when I planted the amazons, was I supposed to leave the" brown stuff" around the plants roots?

WATER CONDITIONS: P.H: 7.0 |Ammonia. 0.0ppm| Nitrates:0.0ppm.

P.P.S
I dont exactly know if I have gotten the water conditons right, I`ll have to re-test. (BTW):When i test for nitrates, Or whatever it may be, the testing shows up. nothing.

What light do you have? Swords are often high light plants--there are a variety of types, often all called amazon sword.

I would remove the dying leaves. They will sometimes lose their leaves from shock, but regrow from the roots. Depends on how much of the root remains intact.
