I have an Amazon Sword that is growing a bunch of little plants all over it. so is it best to just leave them on or should i pull them?

I usually leave them on until the leaves are about 2 inches, then cut them off and plant them. Of course, I just made up that procedure, so there may be better ways

Are the new plants at the end of a long staulk?
Or are they growing ontop of the leaves? If the latter then it isn't a sword plant but more likely Java fern.
