Amazon sword

I picked up two amazon swords plants at the lfs the other day. Do you think they will survive in a play-sand substrate? Do I need those Flourish Tabs?

Yes you would need root tabs because swords are heavy root feeders.

I have a couple Amazon Swords, and they are very hardy. I think they would survive just about anything. Just make sure they the roots are securely buried in the sand. I do not use root tabs, but I do use liquad ferts once in a while and I have great results.

That is a very "Open" question. They probably can "Survive", but to thrive is another story.

Swords (from my experience) needs lots of root food. They really are "Plant Pigs". High light with root food and they grow very big and Happy.
