Saw this at the fish store. Does it work? It's supposed to remove ammonia.

well in a cycled tank you shouldnt need them but a few people do. not sure how well they work. i never used them though.

I'd rather get a bottle of Prime. It's a conditioner as well...

I too have heard of people using them, but dont know how good they actually are...

I used them years ago, and they work, but in a well-kept tank you don't need them except maybe in an emergency.

I have some and I keep them around just for this purpose. If you use them in the filter otherwise, they'll actually kill your filter. They absorb all the ammonia and there's nothing left to feed the filter. Once they get used up, ammonia skyrockets and your tank crashes.

Doesn't work in saltwater or brackish. And it's only a quick temporary fix for a serious problem.
