Anybody tried using ammolock?
When using this product to neutralize ammonia. how often should i dose?
do i have to dose every time i make a water change? also when using ammolock should i make daily water changes?

which is better ammolock or amquel?
whats the best ammonia neutralizing product?

Seachem Prime is what most people here use.....Says this on the bottle " Removes Chlorine,Chloramine,Ammonia and Detoxifies Nitrite & Nitrate"

Just add at each water change......Costs alittle more but it goes a long way...A 250ml (8.5oz) bottle will treat 2500 gallons

But the safest way to remove ammonia, nitrite and nitrates is to keep a check on your water parameters and do water changes as needed....Prime or any other product is not intended to take the place of doing tank maintenence like water changes but to help out incase there are small spikes between changes.

Why do you need to use ammolock daily? Are you doing a fishy cycle? Give us all the information you about your tank. How old, parameters, stock list, etc.

The only reason I wold use an ammonia remover/neutralizer is at a water change if my tap had high amounts of ammonia in it. I use prime every water change only because it also is a conditioner that has the extra benefits described above...I believe ammolock also removes chlorine/chloramine so only use it when adding new water or in case of emergency.

I am not a fan of ammo-lock or amquel...prefer Prime

I prefer prime too. I have ammonia out of the tap so I double dose at waterchanges and it seems to work just fine.

Ammo-lock works fine, but Prime is better. The problem with Ammo-lock is that it gives you a false positive reading, so you can't tell what's going on in your tank, or when your tank has cycled. It does do what it says it does, but I don't why someone would use it unless they were cycling, or at least had an ammonia spike.
