ammonia removing resin pouches

Has anyone ever used this? I'm wondering if it's a good thing...or a waste of time to put in the second media cartridge.....

I haven't used them, I have used ammo chips in my emporers, but that was about 100 years ago (or maybe 10). I do know that they are rumored to starve the bio-filter, which of course then creats a dependancy on their continued use. It is something that you might keep around for disaster days but not necessarily something I'd reccomend using regularly.
