Hi there

Got another question. When i test my ammonia , i get a color of like milky white. Tried a couple of times. Any idea why it is this color ? Is salt still mixing itself in the tank ?

New tank just setup. penguin filter + biowheel. 3 pound peice of live rock, but got similar reading before live rock. Salt reads 1.021.5 . instant ocean hydrometer. It reads low, so i adjust mysalt reading. box filter in corner, plastic cheap kind, floss and rock. think thats it

Oh, ph is 8

been cycling for about 5 days now. added live rock yesterday. Cycling with 1 silver scat. 10-12 hours light.

any help would be great, coulnt find it in the article section.

Yep- I had that same milky white color when I first started (have it now with my new tank). It equates to 0.

:)

hey

Thanx for the info. Guess i am waiting for the cycle to begin , ill check , nit and nat, see whats up.

thanks again

just give it time odin, only 5 days have passed...it will soon start to rise...Untill you have had a ammonia spike ( about 20 on the scale ) you should not really be getting any readings on nitITE or nitrATE...

hey

Ok, cool, you just saved me some testing supplies. was about to nitrie check both.

thanks dude

Its really up to you how often you check..For the first week of the cycle, i checked nothing, no point...Then each week afterwards i checked every two days for ammonia, nitrITE, nitrATE and pH...Did thid untill i saw that each had spiked in turn, ending with the nitrATE spike..
