I just found out that the ammonia in my goldfish tank was kind of high....so i did a 50% water change and used Prime double dose...but the fish still seem to be doing bad they have red streaks on thier fins...how long will it take for the GF to get better I dont want to lose any of them!!!:help:

Try to get your nitrite reading. When you get a nitrite reading of anything greater than 0 then do another 50% water change as soon as possible. Has this tank been cycled or is this new? BTW you can do back to back 50% water changes to get down your ammonia and nitrite levels. Good luck :)

The tank is a cycled tank i had tropical fish in it before the goldfish...and i already did a 50% water change and a double dosed of prime...all the problems began when i was trying to treat an ick infection....the pet store told me that the nitrate was not very high....but who know i need to test it myself...
