Hello,

I have a 20 gallon tank with a med. pleco, 2 med ID Sharks, one small Tiger Barb, 1 small South American Bumblebee Catfish and 3 Kuhli Loach with 3 pieces of Malaysian Driftwood. PH 6.0 Temp 82 degrees. My ammonia is at a constant 3.0 but the nitrites and nitrates are 0. No fish are dying and I do the normal maintenance routine. What should I be doing to lower the ammonia.....any thoughts?

Frst of all make sure that all your readings are correct by taking a sample of your water to your LFS for testing. It those numbers are correct then your tank isnot cycled and you need to do daily water cahnges (at minimum) to get your ammonia down. You may think it is not effecting your fish but it is killing them.
