Hi, im doing a fishless cycle and i want to get the ammonia started , ive been talled to get some liquid ammonia , where do i get this from a food shop or what ?

I got mine from Walmart. Make certain it is PURE ammonia....no detergents!!! It will say pure ammonia on the lable and if you give the bottle a good shake, it does not bubble up.
Good Luck!

The ingriedients on the bottle will read softened water, ammonia, and cheleating agent if you get teh walmart brand (Great Value).

lol, well thats ok, i am sure you have a store around there that carries ammonia. A drug store, or grocery store probably has what you are looking for, it should be in the cleanign aisle with the laundry detergents and things, just make sure you read teh ingriedients.

If the tank had fish in it, you would not add ammonia, and it would need to be kept at or VERY close to 0 (through possilby daily/as much as 50%) water changes to keep the levels down and keep the fish alive. The process still takes many weeks and just means your water changing buckets will be permanently attached to your hands for a while :joke:
