Amphiprion's 75 gallon Reef

wow thats a nice reef tank! i love that u have had it up for that many years!! love the anemone and clowns!! The potters angel is also a very cool fish!

Amph, I've been meaning to ask you. Is your bubble coral a Plerogyra sinuosa or a Plerogyra simplex the branching variety? I have a single polyp of what I think might be the simplex and I'm curious about yours.

Mine right after it was put into the tank (thanks to the Bali slimmer introduced at the same time it was burned a little from the slime but it has since healed up and is eating well)

Mine is P. sinuosa, so one, complete and intact skeleton. The slimer managed to sting the bubble? That is odd, since Plerogyra have a very potent sting and thick mucus.

The slimer came from a fragging demo. Instead of a 2" frag for $5 I got a 12" heavily branched "frag" for the same amount. So with all the handling it had that day...it slimed a ton in the tank. The slimer didn't touch the bubble but the slime from it traveled over via powerhead and a bit burned it there on the top right in the photo. It has since healed.

I love your bubble, I'm not exactly sure which one I have. I saw the frag it was from...it was one skeleton but had 3 polyps. They weren't tall like the branching ones i see photos of but rather 3 polyps one one base. Is you'rs one giant polyp or does it have multiples?

One giant polyp. If I get the chance, I will tune the flow down and get a pic of it fully expanded. It really is HUGE then. Actually, the anemone is 24" when fully expanded, so I might get a shot of her, as well.

I'd love to see that. I'm guessing that means I maybe have the branching sort? Or is there another kind I've not run across? The frag I saw didn't look like the branching pics I see online nor did it have ones similiar to my branching hammer. It was more of a flat base with 3 polyps. Kind of odd.
