What I'd suggest that you do is this. Run an extra filter on your main tank and just keep the tank empty until you need it. When you need it, move the filter from the main tank to the 10 and fill the 10 with water from the main tank. After that plug in the filter and the heater and you're up and running. When you're done with it, empty the tank and clean everything with untreated tapwater. Put the filter back on your main tank, so it can get populated with bacteria again for the next time. That make sense?
