an oscars sanity

my oscar seems to be losing his mind, he was standing on his head spinning, I thought he was looking through the bottom of the tank, so i covered the outside with news paper to block the view, thats hasnt stoped him, and he is attaking all his decor ( large immovable rocks), otherwise he is in good health, eating well, and still hates the pleco.
could he just be bord?

Sanity and Oscar should never be used in the same sentence,

They are very expressive and always doing something. I give mine some small driftwood, a golf ball, or anything too big for it to swallow to push around in the tank. His favorite "toy" is the heater. He will push the gravel around and then go attack the heater and his own reflection.

As long as it is healthy, eating well, and energetic there is nothing wrong with him other than a loose screw or two.

Probably entertaining his self. Mine have never done that, but they are more docile than most O's.
