anadized aluminum pot

Sounds like possibly asking for trouble. What a lot of people do, myself included, is to mix up the saltwater in a dedicated plastic garbage can with a powerhead and submersible heater. It's a good idea to aerate the new ASW for several hours (some say days) before use, to get the buffers into equilibrium with atmospheric gases.

i do run the power head, but i was concerned the heater would take to long. I am doing 30 gallon wwater changes and my water is coming out at 63F. It was a battle to get my new tank put in the living room instead of my office and 35 gallon cans of water sitting arounfd the living room for more then a couple of hours means mad wife unhappy husband.

i was thinking about running down to walmart and buying a porcelin (sp?) pot. watcha think.

I'm certainly sympathetic.

What about a glass container in the microwave?

Nonetheless, I might suggest coming up with a creative way of letting the water circulate for a longer period. I have mine going in the basement, and bring it up when the time comes.
