In my experience, the Ramirezis are slightly harder to keep.
I used to have the blue rams and the gold rams also. They were some of my favorites when I got them, pretty colorings, tons of personality, and easy to get attached to, as mentioned. The males tend to fight, but the male/female couple get along well, and the courtship makes the male's color stand out even more.
Unfortunately, they only lasted a few weeks...
They prefer excellent water quality, with low nitrates...
Mine also didn't compete well for food, and took mostly
live or frozen foods...
With good water quality, and variety of foods, they can do well...
