Angel attempts parthenogenesis (w/ pics)

*If* I were to add a male & a nice river rock for them to spawn on, I wonder if the fry would/could eat the little (sub-brine shrimp sized) cyclops/pod-like thingies swimming all over my RCS tank? Has anying tried that? I'm thinking I'd toss the wigglers into the RCS tank until they were big enough to start bothering the shrimplets, then i could reintroduce them into the main tank to grow them out.

funny you should ask that.
one spawn of angels I grew out went into a tank with pods in it. they greedily chased the pods and fourished in that tank.
it sustained them while I hatched out bbs..but they made short work of those pods..;)

Gah - just ~9 days later and she's at it again, this time all over a pair of Anubias leaves, high in the center of the tank.

Result: Nobody dares grab any food from the surface or she'll run 'em off. I have to stir food into the water.

I hope the eggs don't harm the Anubias leaves.

I've really got to find her a BF (but they're soooo hard to sex unless they've got a prominant hump & pointy papilla).

shouldn't hurt the anubias. you may actually find she has cleaned the leaf of any debris or algae.
and pretty typical for her to lay eggs again usually they wait 2 weeks..but I find when the spawn has no hatch outs they ill lay again in less time.

that is such a nice looking angel..woudl make great babies
