Anyone know or have angel fish
I always wanted an angel fish , I had an emporior angel and it died, did not last long so I did a little research via internet and books and from what I read it stated angel fish do not do well in captivity and htis is a fish that is better left alone do to its feeding / eating habbits makes it a hard fish to keep

RJR,
I currently have 6 koi and 1 sunset blusher angel fish in a 55 gal. aquarium. I got them all as babies, and they are still young. They are doing great! I feed them omega one flakes, Omega One veggie rounds to keep them regular, and bloodworms, daphnia, and other cichlid pellets. They are complete pigs! I don't understand why anyone would say that! They are a little more sensitive to water quality, so you have to keep up on your tank maintenance. I do a cleaning and 50% water change weekly, and they appear to be thriving. I disagree with what you have read. Although I do not believe someone new to fishkeeping should start with an angel as their first fish. Water quality is very important with angels.

From my reading, in books and on the web, there are better and worse species to choose. If you have the space (like 150 gallons and above), some of the Pomacanthus angels, like queen, blue and french angels are supposedly quite hardy once they settle in. Dwarf angels, like cherubfish and flame angels are also good bets. As you have read, imperator angels are not supposed to do well.

Greg Scheimer has written some really nice articles about keeping angels, here's one:

Thanks for the info Gunnie and Mogurnda ,I'm going to give it another shot as they are such nice fish, I have a puufer-tang-tamato clown and huma triger ,think an angel will be ok ?, my triger is a baby and afraid of his own shaddow

I think the puffer might munch on your angel's fins. I don't think those 2 are compatible. Oh darn! It sounds like you will need to get another tank! :D
