My fish order canmee in yesterday. Most of the fish were in excellent shape One ange lfish I thought was DOA actually was moving it's fins so I seperated it out and have a bubble wand providing aeration to it. I've done a couple water changes and it made it through the night. It's gills are really red, but hte little guy has spunk. What more should I be doing for it ? Is there really a chance that it will pull throughThe other angel has really red gills too but is able to swim upright and avoid the intake tubes.

I thight the fish was dead, and contacted the vendor immediately, I have already been given credit I'll keep up the water changes and keep you posted.
Is this process too painful for the fish? when would I know if I should euthanize?

I wouldn't be thinking euthanization at this point.

Fish can recover from ammonia damage from what I have heard. One thing that might ease the process is to make sure there is enough dissolved O2 so no extra stress is put on the fish when it comes to the gills. The less stress, the better.

definately not a blushing angel then? i have a couple of blushers and they look like their gills are really red, i worried at first then noticed they are just blushing angels. hope you little guy pulls through.

i wouldn't euthanize either. i'm not one to euthanize unless there are no alternatives. it is probably not the most comfortable right now but if it's still alive then it still has a chance to recover and live a long healthy life. i hope it starts to show some improvement soon.
