At what age do they pair off (providing there is a female and male)?

Angels usually pair at about one year in age.Always remove other fishes in the tank if you saw two angels start protecting an area.

actually they may start pairing off within 9-10 months of birth...it really depends..if they are cared for properly as fry..they grow fast and consequently mature fast..they do not however, successfully spawn faster.
I have a pair that formed up about age 10 months..they are now about 14 months old and are still trying to have a successful spawn.

Really? I've had mine for 6 months now and they have just paired.
Although I don't know how old they were when I purchased them. I'm guessing about 3 months old, as they were larger than other baby angels I've seen for sale.

yup..see
you've had them 6 months..most likely they were 2-3 months old when you purchased them
making it 8-9 months if age.

not un common but young pairs are generally not very successful..
usually at about 20-24 months is the norm for wilds.

12-14 for domestics(but they get better with age)

that makes sense.

*fingers crossed* my pair are going thru their first spawn now.
