Angel-proof plants?

I was going to try the Java next. I'm not a big fan on the anubias. I just re-scaped my tank (got rid of the sand and changed it completely to eco-complete), so now I'm back in the market to go plant hunting! Java fern is on my list!

Sorry the hygro leaves have gone a while back when I re-scaped my tank. The bite marks on the amazon plants are gone as well since the old leaves have fallen and new leaves have grown in place. I can take pics to show that my angels do eat romaine though if you'd like.

Of the list of "culprits" I would be inclined to suspect your BN's. They aren't plant "eaters" but the often will rasp the leaves looking for algae and they can be pretty destructive to plants without actually "eating" them. Mine love to sit on Sword leaves, and believe me, after a grown BN has sat on a sword leaf for a while, you'll know it :)

If that's the case, what would be the best plants that are sturdy enough to stand up to their rasping?

I have BN's and Angels in just about all my planted tanks.

I have hornwort, crypts(several species), rotala, , anubias, java fern (windelov, regular, narrow), also some duck weed and other floaters.

Anubias and crypts stand up to both my goldfish (super gardeners, they are!) and my BN's. As you can see, it seems that experience with specific plants and fish depends entirely on the individual fish in question.

:D Ok, I'll go out and get a couple of those plants and try them out as soon as I have some time off again.
