Hi
I am babysitting some glow-light tetras for a couple of days, so i stuck them in my 40g with juvie angels (body size of a toonie-coin) and within 10 minutes one of the five ended up as food... there are about a dozen angels in there and they seem rather agressive - any ideas on how to calm them down? Thanks
Shawn

I know the angels need to go in a larger tank when they get a little older - but you reckon 12 in a 40 is too many already?

depends on the size of the angels..small tetras are target/food fish for angels..which are simply cichlids...and that being as it is...they are capable of being unpredicatable.

while some folks get by with small tetras with angels..I have found the tetras get beat up and or eaten.

what's a toonie coin?

when i added von rio (flame) tetras in with my angels, they were chased for a couple of hours. fortunately none were caught. i think if the angels had been able to get one they would have continued until they were all gone.

Toonie coin is a little over an inch in diameter (28mm) - the biggest of the angels are that size - the rest have bodies about the size of a quarter (just the bodies - not the fins).

You have added food to their tank....
