Angel-Ram Hybrid

Angel Rams are deformed Rams with crooked spine, similar to balloon Molly, goldfish and Blood Parrot. When you inbreed fish long enough, deformity will eventually come out.

It's wrong again that someone rumored Blood Parrot to be a hybrid between Red Devel and Severum or some other CA. BP a deformed Red Devel with crooked spine and deformed mouth. Red Devel is not a pure species but an unintentional hybridization of Citrillennum and Labiatum decades ago. After all, many aquarium strain fish are not pure species. Hybrid cichlids rarely have deformity and are fertile. Inbreeding will eventually produce mutants which are deformed and typically infertile.

"Hybrid is bad, pure species is good" or " Deformed fish are bad" is a recurring argument in this and other boards. Fish keeping is for the fun of it and if you like them, keep them. I never like hybrid cichlids and have never kept them except for those reporduced in my own tank. I do keep a few ballon Molly in my office 10-gal tank because I like their miniatured size that fit well in my small tank and their deformity prevents them from jumping out of my tank.
 
im definently not interested on buying this hybrid fish but does anyone have a picture of it? just curious on how it looks... ive never seen or heard of a angel ram...
 
i have seen this Angelram also, as it was labeled, but it seemed to be more lie a ram with longers fins that looked angel like, it was probably a long finned ram, or sumthing of the like, people cross bredd them becusae they want to make money, they dont care aobut the hobby or species or health of any of thei fish, they care about money. hybrids are bad in all aspects IMO.
 
I found long finned rams at the LFS..when compared to the regular ram..I was not impressed..it just didn't look right.
 
its too easy to cross breed cichlids
sometimes they'll do it right in your home aquarium. its not uncommon for jack dempseys to breed with green terrors etc...the fry usually come out grey and brown nothing spectacular, but occasionally a beauty will pop up.
ive seen some red devil texas cichlid crosses and they were stunning. looked just like a texas but instead of blue dots it was covered in bright red and orange flecks
so an angel and a ram given some help is possible
 
Jack Dampsey with Green Terror cross? I don't think so. JD is from CA and GT is from SA. They are too remotely related to be able to hybridize. Most hydridization occur with fish from the same region, not across regions.

lol i guess your kidding
if not do more research, its a true hybrid created in the 1980's in taiwan
its a mix of more than 2 cichlids along the way with red devil being the dominate gene
to produce a blood parrot hybrid....
red devil
midas
severum
red headed cichlid (quetzel)
then you have jelly beans which are covicts crossed with red devils
true blood parrots have deformed spines but it doesnt shorten or damper their quality of life, they can easily live for 10 years
