Angelfish Constipated??

Hey guys, my angelfish, who is about 5 yrs old appears to be constipated. he had a weird bloating around his anus area for a couple of days. now he has what appears to be a large terd or gallstone type thing coming out. the other day i saw it and i thought to myself "oh he must have been constipated, good hes getting it out now" but its still there and he hasn't made any progress in passing this. what should i do?

Pretty fish!

1. Has he been eating since he's been "constipated"?
2. Any changes in behavior other than the huge "turd"?
3. Any new additions or changes to the tank recently?
4. Other fish okay?
5. Water parameters?

Have you looked at possible parasites?

Hard to tell for sure from one pic but little exercise might assist in releasing/passing. Gently chase the fish a bit and see.

Believe it or not, it worked for me :joke: and my fish on many similar cases.

Perhaps changing to different diet, if still eating, may assist as well.

yes, its still eating quite well, the larger portion sticking out broke off but the anus area is still very large and it seems liek theres more its trying to push out, all the other fish are fine and all my water parameters are normal. ill try scaring the s**t out of it
