got redcap veiltail koi angels. had got just 2, and luckily they turned out to be a pair. they laid eggs on an amazon leaf. i have separated the leaf and kept it in a separate tank(bare bottomed). now they are hatching. Little threads sticking out of the eggs and wriggling. have added methyl blue to the water. what do I do next? I have access to only flakes, tubifex and blood worm. no brine shrimps, or infusoria. Please help

I believe you should have prepared for this earlier to give you more time. I would advise you add some plants in there such as riccia to allow the fry to eat the microorganisms that harbor the plants. You have about 3 more days before the fry become free swimming. Try to place old tank water in a bucket and drop a handful of fishfood there. Put an airpump there and put the bucket under direct sunlight. You can use the green water as fry food and it is very healthy for the fry. Your last ditch attempt is scrape egg yolk from a hard boiled egg and suspend it in a jar of water. Get a syringe and squirt it to the school of fry. Start feeding only when they are free swimming or have used up their egg sacs.

What size tank is needed to hatch the eggs and let them grow to a decent size, so they can be added to main tanks? The reason I ask is I was planning on doing this with 10gallon, but I was cleaning it and dropped it, so now I only have a 5.5gallon tank laying around. Will this work? I just need to have them grow big enough in that tank that I can put some in my bigger tank (Until selling size) and keep the rest in the 5.5 (Until selling size.)
