An expert on these, I am NOT! :)

I bought 4 angelfish a few weeks back, and picked the ones that looked the saddest :(

Anyway, this particular one, the white one, is either...

A) missing it's top fin or
B) it's "supposed" to be like that

What is your opinion?
He/she is the liveliest food hog in the tank :D

Like I said, I don't know much about them, I just want to give them a good home

Also; is it normal for an Angel to just sit in one spot staring up like the one in the last 2 pics?

What the heck is he looking for??
He does this CONSTANTLY

Oops!

Ignore the 1st pic.
Different angel altogether :)

Bueller??

Is the marbled angel gasping for air? If so, that could be an indication of poor water quality. If the angel is simply sitting and looking up, it may be looking for you to feed it! I've had angels hang at the surface of the aquarium once they'd see me come in the room, and I always took that as they were begging. I'd see them swim from all different corners of the tank straight to the surface, so they weren't really sitting the whole time. As for the white angel, its dorsal fin is almost nonexistent most likely because of the cramped living conditions it endured before being sent to your lfs. It should grow back in time with clean water in its aquarium.

No, no gasping
it just constantly stares up to the heavens :)

Oh, and thank you saram!

he is waiting for the food to magically fall from the sky into his waiting mouth!

*giggle*

if it is from damage it should grow back..but there have been cases of genetic issues.
I have a very large gold with no ventrals..it was born that way.. it lives alone since it should never be part of breeding stock..it has always been one of the largest and healthiest angel I have ever raised...a nice pearlscale too.;)
