Angelfish with these tankmates?

I'm planning a 75 gallon tank, and I was wondering if I would end up with trouble.

Okay, the first things to go in there will be my L387 plecs (they get to be just under 5" each) and a crap load Malaysian Trumpet snails.

Then I will add in order over several weeks/months:
Buenos Aires tetras 15-20
15 GloFish OR 15-20 Columbian tetras (I think, I have to go back to the lfs to make sure that's what they were)
6 Honey Gouramis
2 Kribensis females OR 1 Kribensis male (I don't think I want to deal with the aggression of mating Kribs)

Finally, once all of those have settled in, I want to add one quarter-sized Angelfish. I'm hoping that if it is introduced so small and grows up with those fish, that it will leave them alone.

Is that going to work, or am I setting myself up for failure?

I do not beleive that Buenos Aries tetras would be wise with an Angel due to fin nipping.....

I've talked to people who keep them, and they said that the bigger the school, the less they bother other fish. But, if you think that they will really bother the angel, I could replace them with Congo tetras.

Congos or Columbians may be better than Buenos Aires tetras - not sure...
I just wanted to say that multiple Gouramis is seldom a good idea. One or a pair - fine. More tends to lead to issues, though it may not be so pronounced in a 75g.

I was hoping that the small size of Honey gouramis combined with their relative peacefulness and the large size of the tank, that they would be okay. I already have some floating plants, and a fake floating plant for some cover. More are in the mail. I'm also planning a ton of fake plants, driftwood, and hopefully some cool fake rock or maybe shipwreck decor. I have a clay pleco cave coming in the mail, and I'm planning on getting some more caves for the kribs and plecs.

Why? Most of the plants will be fake, but I do want some plants. I have java moss and a type of java fern (Windelov fern aka lace java fern). I also have some floating water lettuce. I also have some floating eared watermoss (Salvinia auriculata) coming in the mail (should be here tomorrow). For now, the real plants are in my snail/shrimp tank and the plec holding tank.

If it's a big problem, I can put the real plants in one of my other tanks, and just have fake plants in that tank. I really, really want the Buenos Aires tetras.

Buenos Aires tetras + plants with soft foliage = salad bowl - sauce

:grinyes:

Aren't there any plants that they won't eat? I read that Java moss, java fern and anubias are usually okay.

If not, I guess I'll keep my live plants in the other tanks.

I think I'll take my chances, at least with the Java moss and maybe some of the java fern variant (Windelov). It's not like they're expensive, and I'm not that attached to those.
