I have a few questions about angelfish. I've been reading up on them, and read that they can adjust to high pH (up to like 8.5), but that fry need neutral pH. Is it probable to breed angels in such a high pH? Can you raise the fry in high pH, or MUST it be around 7.0? If you cannot raise the fry in high pH, how long until you can start adjusting them to the higher pH? Also, what kind of setup do you need for each breeding pair of angels? How many grow out tanks do you need for each pair, and what size tanks and such? Thanks in advance!

That a lot of questions.\

Angels are egg layers so they need soft water for there eggs to form right. TDS is more important <120 TDS ph is not as important other than it goes hand in hand with TDS.

The min tank size for a pair is a 20H a 29 is better.

Grow out tanks you will need depends on the number of pairs and amount of fry and how large you intent to grow them out.

I use a 10 a 30 and a 40. in the 10 they stay in there for about 21 days. I start moving them usually at pea size to the 30 as they grow so that all the fry have the same chance at BBS. I move to the 40 after another 21 days once they get to nickel size.

that's per pair of angels you could maybe stretch it to 2 pair again depends on the size of the spawns your pairs deliver to you. this could not be enough if you get a pair that delivers 300 fry at each spawn.

You will need to do 50% PwC a day for each of these tanks.
