Hey everyone............I will be getting 4 of these loaches before too long and wanted to know if anyone had them, and had any pics of them? Also, what do you think of them? Are they really active like clown loaches? Do they stay in schools a lot? Any info on them would be appreciated!

I believe the latest name is Botia Kubotai, but it could have changed again. They are really cool. I hope yours are young, as they look much cooler when they're smaller. Mine are almost as adventurous as my YoYos, but I think the YoYos have influenced them a bit. When I stand outside my tank, the clowns, YoYos, and Kubotais all come to the top and "wag their tails." And before anyone says it, yes, I know the clowns will need to seek a larger tank at some point, but I am seeing them through their youth. The Kubotais do chase each other around to play, but they've never attacked anything; I would keep at least three together. These are a relatively new fish to the hobby, and they succumb easily to parasites, so I would start treating with ParaGuard a day before you put the Kubotais in your tank. If you see one looking short in length, give him something delicious soon, as the two I've lost both looked "stubby" before they died. And I assume you know about the "spine attack" that most, if not all, loaches have - one of my kubotais has been the only one to get me, so just be careful to make the transition to your tank as quick and peaceful as possible in the net so you're not either cutting the net to get your fish out or nursing a sore finger.
