Angels and Discus

Many people have done this with no problems. You should how ever start with the discus first then add the angels. Plus discus like warmer water that some fish don't care much for. www.simplydiscus.com is a great website for all discus questions.

The answer is yes, but not with 6 discus in a 55g. You're maxing out the tank with that many.

Angels and discus are compatible, but there's definately things you have to consider. Add discus fish and angels later, like Pacman said. Make sure that, if the angels are around the size of discus, they don't pick on them (angels can be pretty bad with discus). Spread food around the entire tank so the discus don't have to compete so much amoung one another.

Well see how it goes, and if need be sell the angel. Lots of people do this - compared to providing clean water and good food this would be a minor concern for me.
How big the angel, how big the discus. Bare bottom, planted...? You might find the presence of a larger fish stops some of the squabbling you always with young discus

I believe I remember thinking about this idea a while ago myself...... Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there some kind of disease that the Angels carried that were potentially dangerous for the Discus?

No... nothing about that's been proven... it was published once and has lingered since.

Dismantle.... what kind of cleaning regime are you planning? Once your discus are full grown, they will be already pushing the bioload... the angel might over do it.

I was thinking about 25% water change every day or every other day. Is this enough?

And before I forget, What kind of foods should i buy? Right now I have brine shrimp flakes, freeze dried bloodworms, TetraMin Pro, tetra Spirulina (sp?) flakes, pellets for small cichlids, and tetra color. Thanks
