Hey everyone...........I currently have this stocking in my 55 gallon tank:

6 guppies
4 Platys
2 Swordtails
2 Mollies
12 Cory Cats
16 2-3 month old Molly Fry, and a BUNCH of new platy fry

My platies and guppies are about to have babies again, and I can't keep having this many babies a week lol. I have a friend taking a bunch of the baby mollies off my hands now that they are big enough to swim with all the other fish. I have tons of platy fry, about 1 week old now, and none of the fish even bother them! They are swimming around with the big fish like nothings wrong.

I was thinking of adding 2-4 Angelfish to help control the fry. In this big of a tank, will they be able to eat ALL the fry each time, or will some survive? There are lots of hiding places in my tank for them to hide. Thanks!

Well, I'm wanting angels anyway. I've always had them and have always loved them.......I just figured they'd be an easy way of controlling the fry as well

I have two pairs of Angels. Haven't had a spawn yet get past the free-swimming stage; Mom & Dad eat 'em....

Thinking any fry would end up as lunch....

watch the mollies and swords... they can get nippy. otherwise, you should be fine by adding one or two.

if you add 4 angels you may wind up with a breeding pair..then the nipping will come from the angels in aggressive attacks.

they wil easily wipe out any fry matter of fact they will pretty much eat anything they can fit in their mouths..so watch the guppies.

oh and do not get wild angels especially leo's(drumerellis) they are the smallest angel but they make up for thier size with aggression.
stick with domestics.
keep in mind the 10 g per angel rule..believe me..they need the space.
