Question has been asked. How fast do Angel Fish and Silver Dollars grow? Follow-up question: What do they really eat in the wild? Thanks for any answers.
I don't know about Angels, but my Silver Dollars were full grown in about 6-7 months. I don't know what they eat in the wild, but mine ate shelled peas, any plant that I tried to grow, cichlid pellets, algae wafers, flake food, brine shrimp, etc. In other words, I never found anything they wouldn't eat.
as far as i know angels eat small fish, such as tetras, and vegetation in the wild. in an aquarium growth rates can vary wildly. i bought a pair of juvenile angels. one has hardly grown at all the other is virtually full grown after about 6 months. they're in the same tank.
I've had both in the past and the Angels were slower growing. I was surprised at how fast the Silver Dollars grew! I'm not sure what they eat in the wild...
Silver dollars and most of the meytinnis I believe are herbivores...so to speak. Yes they probably get some small inverts along with the leaves but they prefer plants and will go through your tank like a lawnmower. As far as I know, angels are primarily piscivorous and should be fed a meatier diet.
The question should be how long on the dollars from 1" to 5" a year and a half here.Becare full on tank mates I had a pair of tinfoil barbs scar these guys for life they dont seem to grow scales back
Dont be fooled buy the size of the rosey barb he's that big the congo in back is like 3.5" And I know my $50 digi cam blows.
