My 55 gallon tank has been cycling for about a month now, my 5 zebra danios are doing great and my chemistry has leveled off. After 5 days of 0 ammonia and nitrates I added my second batch of fish 2 days ago, 5 Harlequin Rasboras. When it is time for to add more fish I'd like to get something for a "feature fish" to really show off my tank. I'd like to get 4-5 Angel Fish but I wanted some opinions on if they would do well in my tank. My water ph is 7.8, I am keeping it at 78 degrees and I have about a dozen live plants of various types ans sizes. Given that information and my current residents, would Angels do well in my tank? Thanks!

I think 3 angels in a 55g would be the most I would add, as they get quite tall and about the size of your spread open hand (as someone else on here once said). Your conditions are fine. Think it over.

Thank you both. Somewhere I read that Angels should be kept as single fish or in groups of more than 3. Would 4 be OK in this tank if I limited my other fish?
The only other things I was thinking about adding was 3 yo-yo loaches and a pair of dwarf gourami. Would I be looking at any conflicts there?

bumpity-bump

Angels do fnie in pairs or trios as well, once you've let them pair off. I really think 4 angels in a 55 is pushing it too far. I really like the idea of letting a pair choose one another and then keeping them and selling the others back or trading, etc.

Thanks Harlock, I think I'll go for 3 then.

I wish i never got angels, they fight 24/7 and just cause me a load of hassle...

wow, I used to love mine..... once had 3 with 3 discus, I had to remove one due to territory issues (before the discus were added but I lost them to a crash of somesort... I'm thinking anaero something, then when I got everythjing back up and running I had 3 Zebra Angels that were fine, beautiful fish but never did spawn like the first set did.

If you lived in the uk id let you have them
