Yea I had a breeding pair in my 29 gallon at one point. Currently there are about 15 blood fin tetras in there, and I have a pair of bolivian rams on the way. I have a vacant 30 gallon that i was going to put the rams in. Since the angles passed a month or so ago (i haven't got a clue why, my water was perfect, i was feeding them properly, and there was no noticable parictes, but i treated for them anyway) i just figured id make that tank into a tank for the rams. Now i have the 30, which is longer, so i figured they might like it for extra swimming room. I was thinking that if i didn't put much into the tank on the bottom, keep things simple, the angles would be fine, since they would have almost the full 16" of height to swim in. In the 29 they rarely came to the bottem of the tank anyway, they mostly stayed in the upper portions of the tank.
