Angels in a 50?

Hey guys!! Thanks for all your help!! I think I'm going to stick with my original plan and get just 2. I am not really all that worried about getting a mating pair, just two that will get along and not kill each other!!
As for other fish I am of course wanting at least a few corydoras :D I love those little guys.
Maybe also a couple loaches of some sort?!?
And lastly maybe a good size school of larger tetras?
Any input on this? I haven't much experience with larger tanks and I'm a little freaked that I'm overstocking!! Thanks all!!!!!

Hey Bitsy. Just my 2 cents. I think 2 is a good number for your tank. I would suggest getting two of the same size, if possible. I've kept serpae tetras with my angels for years. Also yoyo and kuhli loaches. I'd shy away from clowns and a couple other loaches that get too big to be happy in a 50. I'd top it off with the most outrageous betta I could find.

 I really like the betta idea!!! But would he do okay with the angels?

I've kept them together several times over the years and never had a problem.

I have 8 in my 150 gallon and i had problems when they started to pair off. i had three pairs spawn and they would just about kill the other two because they had no where to go, which ever way they turned a pair would run them off.

So in a 55 if i was doing it i would do 2-3 just to be safe.

I like to have zebras with mine because they are always moving and i think it makes the angels more active. I have rummynose, bleeding hearts, blood fins, and some bottom feeders in there also.
