So i have a pair of Angels that finally laid eggs last week, I saw which on did, and the other went over as to fertilize them, after a couple days they were all infertile, i figured because its there first time, But i went on vacation for the last four days and came back to another batch of eggs, now its been exactly one week since the last one. and they is some going infertile. Is it possible i have a pair of two females? Thanks Everyone

Yes it is possible. Make sure they are not both putting eggs onto the chosen spot.

they chose separate leaves, also separate times, and they have both cared for both egg batches. this is always my luck. :(

Watch them carefully, when they start laying eggs you should be able to notice a clear difference between the male and female. Look underneath them, the female will have a larger more round ovipositur (sp?) while the males is much thinner and pointed. You should also see the female becoming larger around that area (eggs).

If you have 2 females, you should be able to pick out a male.
It is a little easier to pick a male, higher chances.
All the eggs turned white?
Any other fish in the tank? How big are they?

My angels will lay eggs almost every week, or if you do a large water change, or switch food.

Good luck!

well i guess its possible because its been a week. I saw angel #1 lay the eggs last week, but i'm not sure if she did this week. I thought they laid eggs less often. This batch was much smaller, and they are both caring for them and defending them.
They are the biggest fish in the tank, and one other angel who is being picked on, im needing to find a place for that one.

You have another angel in the same tank?
You might have a pair.
How big is the tank?

yes you def want to move the 3rd angel . they are fighting him off, if you do have a pair, they will be very aggressive towards thier eggs, and if you have females pretending' well the 3rd fish is obviously not a mate they want . ~~ maybye you casn trade it in on something else at the LFS >?? just a thought . good luck hope you do have a pair and get angel fry !! its hard work , but so fun to watch .
