Angel's with Rainbows?

I'm going to disagree with many of the posters here. 4 angels in a 55 is a recipe for lots of nipping. even more so if the angels pair and try to breed. I think you may be ok with 2, but 4 is a little crowded for them. I think the rainbows will be fine with them, as long as you don't have the dwarf variety, that can be small enough to fit in the mouths of the full grown angels.

I could move 8 of the rainbows and the gold gourami to the 55 gal. That would leave 7 rainbows in the 130 with the angels and the black skirt tetra's. I know I could try and see what works but all my tanks are planted and I can already know it's going to be difficult netting these guys without tearing up the tank to move them. So I don't want to have to do this more than once. All of you have much more expierience than I do and angel's are a new venture to me.
I appreciate all the input.

How long does it take the angels to be full grown. I'm wondering if I could put them in the 55 gal for a year? Be looking for a 75 gal. and then move them?

I have threadfins with my angels....no problems so far.

I'd like to see an angel attempt to eat a praecox unless you're referring to one of the blue eyes.

last time I was at the decent LFS "near" me they had some small full grown rainbows, about the size of neon tetra

Wow, any chance you can get their name, esp scientific name, from them?

Personally, I think it's an "angel" issue more than a 55 gal issue. Most of my angels were adopted from (other peoples') tanks where they were picked on. You either need a pair that gets along or take your chances that a small group will get along (not that likely) or get a good sized group where aggression is spread out.
