Anglefish in hardwater?

I was wondering if angel's would work in hard water. I don't know how hard it is I have to get a kit but my ph number are: high ph is 8.2 and ph is 7.2. I know that many fish can handle different level's of ph but it's just important for the water to be constant.

Also, if it would work in my water parameter then my next question is could they be in a 130 gal. tank that has a decent current. I recently got a fluval fx5 and it's wonderful but the output is pretty strong. I also have a 55gal available with a regular filter and not too much movement.

The hard water is not a problem, unless you mean extremely hard (almost solid). Our local municipal water is quite hard and my angels do very well and even spawn. I have not tried to hatch the eggs - no space for that. If you want to breed them then the hard water may be an issue.
 
i used to have angels in hardwater and they were fine. course my water chemistry just shifted, and now i have soft acidic water as opposed to hard acidic water. But this was a while ago so yo ushould be fine


The key is drip acclimation. If you are worried about shocking them just drip acclimate with some airline hose
 
i too have hard water in my area...ph stays at 8.4 steady...kh around 300 and gh stays around 150...my platys and their babys love it...
i am planning to start a 55 for the wife with some angels and black skirt tetras, and i am concerned about the params...
i want to use as little of the bottled additives as possible and am planning on running a bag of peat in the mech filter so help soften the water, i dont know if i can add some into the substrate as well or not...
but from what i have read here and other sites say that adding peat is the easiest and safest way to soften hard water for the angels and other fish who prefer softer water...
