hey guys!!
i was thinking of buying 2 angels for my 20 gallon tank that is soon to be arriving and i was just wondering if 2 angels and a few neon tetras and harleys (4 of each kind) would be okay with each other. ive heard stories where the angels eat the neons. so please tell me your opinions on how this would work out.

THANKS!!!

A single angel would be better in that tank. If you get a pair the minimum i would go for is 30gal.

The neons will get eaten. They are a natural food source in the wild.

:iagree: i found that out the had was a few weeks ago i tried again with black neon's and that seemed to work. you could give that a try

Right now i have a large angelfish in with about 30 neons and nothing happens but its a 125g tank. I also have a 20g with 5 baby angels that will be moved into the large tank when they grow. They're just there to help get the tank going before i change it over. Try cardinal tetras. They look almost like neons but they're red stripe is longer and they are a little bigger than neons.

If you plan on keeping angels with neons, make sure they are with each other since both species are young. Then, when the angels grow up, theres a smaller chance of them eating the neons. Also, I agree with the others - just 1 angel would be better. then you could increase the size of your neon group.

i did the above i had babie angels in a 90gal community tank with neons and similar sized fish were there for a few years and when the angels got breeding mature,.. they massacered almost all inhabitance, till i figured out where they were going and then rehomed the angels,.. they will eat them sooner or later,..if not eat, just plane killed and left dead,..
