OMG. So sorry to hear about your friend... unfortunatly we hear all to often about such events these days.

I know suggesting this now wont help what happend to your friend, and is no excuse for what the punks did.
But, maybe your friend should carry pepper spray? I was attacked by 2 dogs over 10 years ago. I was not suppose to survive the brutal attack. Since then I carry pepper spray with me. I've used it twice - both times on dogs.
I intend to find who it was. He can remember what the dog looks like. It was a Staffordshire ( like mine) And, There are only so many in this area, and I have met 95% of them. So, it shouldn't be to hard to find a female with the markings he described.
I just can't believe that it happened in this stupid tiny town. Seriously, he can't even hold his hands still, he was fishing, I suppose thats why they did it, he was an easy target. Thankfully, he had a friend meeting him there, they were going night fishing.

So far I have gotten no word. I have called several times to the hospital, and I am assuming he is in surgery. So I will keep you updated as I know more.

My mother used to be a nurse at a nursing home. She used to take care of this 35 year old guy who was basically like a vegetable. Some 15 years earlier he got mugged and was bopped on the head and got brain damage. It was for about $12.
So some schmuck was $12 richer and this poor guy basically paid it with his life. The murderer (that's basically what he is) was never caught.
And I don't believe that layoffs, gas prices, pay cuts, or any other financial troubles is no excuse. Times are tough for everyone.
I hope your friend makes a full recovery and they find these sons of ****** and prosecute them to the fullest extent. I hope they suffer.

The best thing you can do is be there for your friend he needs you. Let the police handle this.
You should stay in contact with the investigating officer Keep them informed as to his condition this keeps a face to the case not just a file.
Just keep in mind they will get caught because just as you said they will brag to someone. That is how most criminals get caught .

I'm sorry to hear about that. I was actually jumped a few years back for... wait for it... a pair of sneakers... Luckily I left with only a sprained ankle and some marks on my face. It was definitely a traumatic experience though, something i'll never forget.

He seems to be doing well, his speech is slurred, and hes frustrated that he is stuck there, ( he really wants to come home) But otherwise, he is doing ok. some other friends of ours are there now, so I will be going up tom morning.
Thanks to all of you for your thoughts, It helped alot! I am still very angry, and assume that when I see him tom, I will be much more so. But the prognosis is pretty good for the situation. All we can do is hope that he continues to improve.
