Another 10 Gallon Stocking Question

Thanks! On another thread, someone posted that I should upgrade to a 20 or 30 gallon. This could only be done though if I could use the same filter and heater. Right now, I have a top fin filter...it came with the tank, and a 50 watt heater...Could I use these in a bigger tank?

If the filter came with the tank it is more than likely just barely enough for the 10g ,so you would need a bigger one....Also you really need atleast a 100w heater for a 20g. The easiest way to figure the size heater you need it to do it by 5w per gallon ( 5w x 20 = 100w) It seems that when they put these kits together they just put the bare minimums in them.

Okay, I see...so I would need a new heater, new filter, and new tank? Could I keep my swordtail and albino cory if I did this?

Colisa lalia? He'll nip the guppies. Honey gouramis are lesser evil compared to dwarf.

I'd add 3 more neons along with 3 guppies, a honey gourami and 3 cories. That's it. Guppies are not really schoolers.

Are you sure this isn't overstocked? That would be 13 fish total...

I traded my swordtail and my albino cory cat in today for 1 guppy and 2 spotted cories. So my tank now has: 3 spotted cory cats, 2 guppies, 3 neon tetras...I think I'll add a honey gourami next weekend, as well as 3 more neons.
