How much do you think you've invested in your fish room? A rough gues-timate? If you don't mind me asking.
Also, how long has it taken you to get to this point?

Hmm, hard to say really...most of my tanks are used. I am sure at least several thousand but I really don't know. Make a little, spend a little...set it aside you know. Its taken me about 2 years to get this far once I decided I was going to. Everything I spend comes from my profits from my tanks so it took a bit longer than if I were to just set up a fishroom.

Do you have automated water changes? Holy cow..I can't imagine how long it must take you if you don't.

To water change all the tanks is an 8 hour day. I do it all manually. No auto system.

Nice set-up...I can see it in my basement...hhhmmmm

I have a dehumidifier going 24/7. The basement doesn't even have an odor. There is no mold, wetness, etc in teh basement so no problems so far.most of my tanks have lids which helps alot as well.

thanks for the compliments!

you must spend a fortune heating those tanks and keepping the basement temp up.
why not insulating the walls. i think it will save you more than 60% on your electric bill or oil bill. what do you think?
i spent $40.00 a month heating up a 220 gallong tank and all my basement wall are insulated
how do you do it?????????????????
nice fish room i might add
keep up the good work

I only have heaters in 10 tanks out of 40, and they are mostly small ones. My energy bill is $200 a month for a family of 5. I have a central pump to power most of the tanks. Temps stay in mid 70's down there year round. I don't heat the room, we heat our house with wood which has a nice radiant warmth. Next winter we are going to hook heat driven fans into the duct work to blow more air downstairs. This should negate the need for me to have heaters in any tank but my sulawesi and my discus tank :)
