Another idea.

I know I mentioned something similar before but I have this dream and I think this time it might work. Of course, the big question is the Gouramis. I know I'm going out on a limb here but that is what you guys are for. :) I figured I'd ask the experts for :help: I would appreciate any ideas and information.
According to the Aquaria Central Species Profile, all of these should be compatible; according to Liveaquaria, they are not. But, the Liveaquaria chart is very general. Which can I trust?
So far, I have been comparing temperment and water params and that is how I put my 10 gal together. According to Liveaquaria my current 10 gal. setup wouldn't work, but it does. I noticed that the chart is a generalization, not taking into account different species temperments.

:hang:
In my 75 gallon tank, I would like to have:

All Florite substrate

Live Plants
Red Ludwigia
Anubias Nana
Wisteria or Asian Ambulia
Clover
maybe some Amazon Frogbit or eared watermoss

Inhabitants
2 German Ram Blue Cichlids*
2 Neon Blue Dwarf Gouramis*
7 Sparkling Gouramis*
7 Purple Emperor Tetras
7 Bleeding Heart Tetras
8 Harlequin Rasboras
and some Japanese Trapdoor snails

Liveaquaria's chart showed incompatibility. Aquaria Central's species profile said that they should be compatible (referring to the Gourami issue, since the Neon Blue Gouramis and the German Ram Blue Cichlids are so "shy" and the Dwarf Croaking aka Sparkling Gouramis are peaceful too). I was told that I should have one male and the rest female of each species. I have also been told that since the tank is so big it shouldn't be an issue. Please let me know what you think.

Also,

In my 10 gallon tank, I would like to have:

Sand substrate

Live Plants
Anubias Nana
Wisteria or Asian Ambulia
maybe some Red Ludwigia
maybe some Clover
maybe some Amazon Frogbit or eared watermoss

Inhabitants
4 Betta Imbellis (I already own them)
2 African Dwarf Frogs
and a couple Japanese Trapdoor snails

What do you think?
I don't think I'll have much of a problem with the 10 gallon tank. The only tough part will be changing the substrate from florite to sand. I'm guessing I'll need peat underneath for the live plants.
My main concern is my 75 gallon tank. I have plenty of time to think it over but I'd like to get the picture clear in my head. Does anyone have any information that would clarify the compatibility issue or if I would even have to worry about it since the tank is big enough to fit all of them happily?

Thank you. I will plan on that. How can you tell the sex of them? How about the Sparkling Gouramis compatibility with each other and with the Dwarf Neon Blue Gouramis?

I think both gourami species would be ok together. The male blue neon, is bright blue, the female is not as pretty being a greyish blue. I know that pearl gourami would work in there 100%. They are beautiful and very gentle. Take a peek at them next time you visit your LFS. Usually they are tiny and not too impressive in the stores, but mature into nice iridescent silvery pearl that shimmer under the lights. :) And the female is just slightly, ever so slightly not as colorful as the male.

Do the Pearl Gouramis croak too? That is what made me want to buy the Sparkling Gouramis. I would like to hear them croaking. I thought it would be cute.

Beek, I think it should work. If the 75 is heavily planted, there will be lots of room for fish to establish little territories and places to hide if there's any agressive behaviour from time to time.
I saw some sparkling gouramis a while back, I can see why you wanted them so much. They're adorable little guys :)

Yea, they're great. I need females though. The males are starting to get along quite well. They seemed to have gotten over the heirarchy thing. Now they just school.
I also love my Bettas. They are great. Very timid, but they are starting to come to me. They like me. When I was acclimating my snails today, the male was investigating the bag. He was being so cute.
By heavily planted, do you mean CO2 and ferts? I'm still nervous about that. I hope I'll be ready for that when the time comes. I can dream until then.
