Another idea.

By heavily planted I mean lots of plants, it could be a high or low-light tank, I just meant if there's lots of decoration, there are lots of hiding places. Tanks with high light, CO2, needing lots of ferts etc. I usually refer to as high-light or high-light, high maintenance :)

Okay, I can do that.

My dream expands and becomes more clear... It is starting to look like Blinky's tank! :D

IMHO Pearl/Lace gouramies are stunning when they get a *Little* older.

When they are settled and in a happy tank (Great water), the colour's they show male & female are STUNNING!!!! Like MOTHER OF PEARL........silver sheen with blue's and green's!!! Kept we'll they are gorgeous!!!

I have 2 males, along with Opaline and moonlight male's, and have never had any problem's ( I have Fem's too).

They really are one of the most Beautifully coloured community fish you can aquire.

Not so sure about the compatablity of a Pearl Gourami with either of the other two Gouramis - Pearls are Tri's, very few of which take well to their smaller cousins. I will admit the Pearl is probably the most peaceful Tri gourami out there and is certainly one of the more beautiful ones, so you might do okay. Croakers only croak when spawning (and sometimes when scared, e.g. when netted), but their different appearance compared to the other gouramis makes them very attractive. Definitely go with 1 male Blue Dwarf and 1 if not 2 females - the females are rather pretty themselves just not colorful, mostly a silvery white. Don't necessarily expect them to breed, but if they do they will likely become a fixed pair.

If I got 1 male and 2 females, would the male pick one female and leave the other one out?

Mine get a little "Fiesty", now and again, due to this, however nothing, except a "chase around the tank", has occured!!! ABSOLUTELY, nothing!!!

I have 12 in all, got 4 from my grandad as fry, purchased the other's. More female's than male's.

Maybe just luck, but, not even a nipped fin in all this time!!!

Just don't go near the Choc's!!!!

I have 3 Sparkling Gouramis in my 10 gal. and they get a little "fiesty" too. I've tried to get a picture of them to post. They really are handsome fish. The 10 gal. with Bettas, Gouramis, and Tetras, is my first tropical tank. It is also my first planted tank. My 75 gallon has Comets in it and I love them dearly, but when they decide to go to fishy heaven I will turn that tank over to a tropical tank.

It has just been brought to my attention that I don't have Sparkling Gouramis. Even though I ordered Sparkling Gouramis, I received 3 German Ram Blue Cichlids. What do I do?
