OK, this is a non-motile (I think) invert. The general appearance is a small white sac attached to the underside of some liverock. There are two small grabbers/antenna/stingers projecting away from the body.

There was one and it's gotten bigger. There is now one next it and another one on a different rock

Any ideas?

tunicate?

The body seems to be similar, I can't google a tunicate that has the prongs though.

I've also read that they are basically impossible to keep in an aquarium and these are multiplying. I definitely need to know if these things need to go before they spread too much more.

ive got a couple of tunicate species growing in my filter that i never bought. pretty easy to keep if you ask me.

Actually it is a Scypha sponge, otherwise known as a "pineapple" sponge. A harmless filter feeder on waterborne bacteria and other nanoplankton.
