So I currently have a 20W light on a 29 gallon (diy) CO2 tank. I am realizing now that I am going to need new lighting, what would be the best possible light I could get on the tank, and where would be the place to buy one.

I use the 24" version of this one over my 29 gallon tank. They didn't have the 30" version (which would fit the top of a 29 gallon) when I bought mine. At any rate, my plants look great and grow well, so I am quite satisfied and really recommend it. It will allow you to grow medium light plants and down.nickbuter said:
It really depends on what you want with regards to plants. The link Harlock provided would give you 2.2wpg. Good enough for low to medium light plants.
