Whould, 2 500w (not sure if 500w apeice, all they say is use max 500w) HALOGEN heatlamps ( u know which ones im talkin about, Of course a chiller whould be needed ) allow me to keep any coral?

Im thinking that the price of the two lamps plus the chiller whould save me some money compared to the 2 250w halides I want.

I'm pretty sure Halogen lights won't cut it for corals. Something to do with the spectrum. I wish I could give more details but I do remember someone asking about this a while ago and someone else explained it wouldn't be addiquite.

Do a search on Halogen here I'm sure it will bring back some threads.

Absolutely do not bother with halogen lighting. They are essentially goosed-up incandescent lamps that will give you about 25% of the efficiency and a lot more heat than anything else you could buy. Not to mention that the spectrum's wrong.

I found this writeup about plant lighting to be a very good resource for comparing different types.
