Here are a few more ideas...

Spy vs Spy (Mad Magazine)... Have two teams try to kill off each other, but they don't know who's on each team... Been done a few times

100% alias game, I know some of you have yet to master the art of 'logging in', but hey, you've got to learn someday! ;) Been done once

A StarTrek Mocumenterrorosity. Take inspiration from the film Trekkies and or GalaxyQuest and base a game off of it/them. BTW, Trekkies gave me nightmares. I know a family, where I grew up in So.Cal. that painted their van with Star Trek insignia and such.

A Survivor based game. Have a few teams, each 'night' is a contest. Whoever wins the 'contest' is safe. The looooosers have to vote someone off. You know the drill. Had something similar to this

Common people, hallen that gargantuan cranium aboot. It's an orange on a toothpick. It's like sputnik, spherical yet quite pointy in places.

I know judgemax is off purchasing fake cursed jewelry, so she's good fer nuthin! What's the rest of your excuses!

How about a doppleganger game where everybody gets an alias but everyone also get a twin - another player with a very similar alias. In most cases both twins are citizens however in one set of twins there is an evil twin. This evil twin can turn one of any pair of twins but not both. In addition to turning people the evil twin can also "impersonate" any player once in the game. To impersonate the evil twin creates a post which he forwards through the mod to a player who must type the post as their own. Haven't fully fleshed this out but it could be a thoroughly confusing and fun game.

Let me clarify, there are two teams. No one knows the members of their team. At the beginning they are only told the name of one teammate. So, each player only knows the identity of one teammate. There is no communication outside of the game thread. The added twist, is no one knows which team they are a member of 'Black' or 'White' until their one 'known' teammate is toasted. Each 'night' the group, via the majority, votes one person out.

There could be 'clues' or possibly a team captain for each team that can do investigations to determine which team an individual belongs to. But, even so, they can't communicate with them outside the game thread. Multiple people could 'claim' to be a captain, and attempt to save themselves from being booted,
