When Midas Cichlids ( or any other cichlid for that matter ) get ready to lay eggs will the females belly be sort of large because it swells up with eggs? I don't understand the whole concept of this yet. My Midas pair have been paired up for at least 5 days now and the females belly doesn't look any larger than it did even before they paired up. I've tried feeding them earthworms & nightcrawlers and only the male pays attention to it while the female just seems to look at it and go on about it's business.
