I bought 2 angels yesterday morning, and I was wondering how long it takes for them to adjust to their new surroundings/start eating. The larger of the two doesn't seem interested in eating at all, while the smaller one is eating everything it can. I have feed them,in small amounts:frozen brine shrimp,freeze-dried bloodworms, spiriluna flakes, and some shelled peas. The larger angel swims all over the tank, doesn't have clamped fins/white feces, and sometimes "dances" with the smaller angel. They are in a 29g with live plants/driftwood, and small rocks. The tank mates are: 6 white cloud minnows;1 BN pleco; and 2 snails. The params are: 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 10ppm nitrates, pH 6.2. Any help would be appreciated:thm:

very nice

give them a bit more time to adjust. some angels take longer than others to adjust to new surroundings, especially considering you've only had them for a very short time. now if this turned into a week or week and a half, it should start to raise a red flag.

thank you jm1212,and rich311k for the reassurance, but I have noticed the larger angel "yawning" alot and constantly messing with it's mouth, very spasmotic(i love making up words)-could there be something stuck in it's mouth?

I wouldn't be too concerned at this point about not eating. If I change tanks for my angels or make any change, they sometimes withhold eating for a few days. It's perfectly normal.

I agree.. give them a few days to get use to the new surroundings.

Nice Angles.. i would guess not far removed from wild strain.

woohoo-the larger angel is finally eating today:thm: After everything we tried to feed it, it seems to like Tetra flakes. Thank you star_rider,excuzzzeme,jm1212, and rich311k for your help.

very nice.. prob start eating like a piggie. btw, a healthy angel can go weeks with no food. of course if this happens they prob aren't very healthy..but I have a large angel that will sometime not eat for 1-2 weeks.
